Effortless Motivation with a Good Study Partner

I am a dedicated procrastinator. When I am motivated to study, I will work for days. Learning is easy and I enjoy it. However, motivation does not last forever. It fades and with it my will to study. In order to not fail my challenge to learn digital art, I decided to find a study partner. Having regular check-ins/ meetings with an accountability partner increases your chances of success to 95%. Knowing I had someone to learn with lessened the burden of having to study. It made me want to study instead of dread it.

How to Study with Friends

Studying with friends can be a game-changer when it comes to learning digital art. It turns what can sometimes feel like a solitary grind into a collaborative and enjoyable experience. But to get the most out of these study sessions, it’s important to know how to approach them effectively. Let’s dive into how to study with friends in a way that boosts creativity, productivity, and learning.

Benefits of Having a Study Partner

  • GIVE EACH OTHER MOTIVATION – Have someone to rally you whenever you are demotivated
  • SHARE KNOWLEDGE– Use each other’s skills and knowledge to achieve your goals faster
  • SHARE RESOURCES – Learn about tutorials and tools for digital art easily from your partner

Find a Study Buddy Online

The first thing to do is find your study partner. In today’s digital age, finding a study buddy online has never been easier. There are numerous platforms and communities dedicated to digital art where you can connect with like-minded individuals. Websites like DeviantArt, ArtStation, and even Reddit have groups and forums where you can find potential study partners.

Social media is another great avenue. Join digital art groups on Facebook or follow hashtags related to your interests on Instagram and Twitter. When you find someone whose work resonates with you, don’t hesitate to reach out. Chances are, they might be looking for a study buddy too.

study with me videos

At university, I loved just showing up at the school’s cafe and working on my paper in the same room as other students. The atmosphere was motivating. I felt supported by others working to achieve their goals, even if it wasn’t the same as mine. However, with my busy schedule, going to a cafe is not always the practical choice. Instead, I watch “Study with Me” videos to bring back that feeling from my University days.

Study with Me YouTube

YouTube is a treasure trove of “study with me” content. Essentially, these videos feature someone studying or working in real-time, creating an ambient, focused environment. Never worry about if your study partner will show up on time. Simply go to the channel of a digital art study creator and study alongside them whenever you want.

Watching these videos can help you stay on track and feel less isolated. It’s like having a virtual friend by your side, working diligently and motivating you to do the same. Plus, many of these content creators also share tips and techniques related to digital art, which can be an added bonus.

Including Me! I have a “Study with Me” YouTube channel, where you can watch every step I take as I learn digital art and not feel so alone in your journey either.

How to be a Good Study Partner

Being a good study partner isn’t just about showing up; it’s about bringing the right attitude and approach to your sessions. Start by setting clear goals for what you want to achieve together. Whether it’s mastering a new technique in Photoshop, working on a joint project, or simply providing feedback on each other’s work, having a shared focus keeps everyone on track.

Be Reliable and Consistent

A good study partner is dependable and committed to the study schedule. They show up on time for sessions and are consistent in their efforts. Reliability ensures that both partners can trust each other to keep the momentum going, making it easier to maintain a regular study routine and achieve shared goals. On my channel, I post new videos every week and plan my schedule around making sure that one study session happens.

Give Support and Constructive Feedback

An effective study partner provides encouragement and constructive criticism. They offer feedback that helps you improve without discouraging you. This supportive attitude fosters a positive learning environment where both partners feel motivated and confident in their abilities to grow and develop their skills.

The power of a comment section is undeniable. I always welcome different perspectives on my journey because there is always more than one way to do something and other’s opinions can spark creativity.

Communicate Effectively

Clear and open communication is essential in a study partnership. A good study partner expresses their ideas clearly, listens actively, and is open to discussions. This ensures that both partners are on the same page, can share knowledge effectively, and can address any misunderstandings or challenges that arise during study sessions.

Overall, Active participation is key. Engage in discussions, ask questions, and share your insights. If your friend is struggling with a concept, be patient and offer your help. And don’t forget to celebrate small victories along the way. Positive reinforcement can keep motivation high for everyone involved.

Do You Need a Study Partner?

Study Partners are not required but I think they are the greatest asset to learning digital art. Studying with friends, whether in person or online, transforms the learning journey into a shared adventure. By being a good study partner, seeking out reliable and supportive companions, and leveraging resources like “study with me” videos, you can make significant strides in your digital art skills while enjoying the process. So grab a friend, fire up your favorite study video, and dive into the world of digital art together!
