Reflecting on June Goals
Success! I completed every single goal I set last month. For the month of June, I wanted to start. It is the hardest part of any journey. As a chronic overthinker, I am often stuck in the analysis paralysis phase. In truth, I was supposed to begin my quest on January 1st of this year, but I didn’t actually do it until June 1st.
Overall, I am proud of my progress. but the important thing is to keep the momentum going. I need to keep working if I actually want to achieve my dream of making money as a Digital Artist in 2024.

July Themes
As with June, this month I have chosen themes to help me focus my goals and the work I do in the coming days to make consistent progress.
My art journey: Learn & practice
Last month I learned a new art form that helped me gain familiarity with Procreate. Now I want to continue that learning. While I continue to grow my skills and knowledge of Zentangle Art, I also want to learn a new art form and increase my skill set.
My Business Journey: E-commerce shop development
In order to have an online art business, I will need a working e-commerce shop. Now that I have set up my website, I will spend this month focusing on my e-commerce shop that will be connected to my blog.
My July Goals
Using my Themes as a Guide, I have created some goals to help me learn digital art and build my online art business.
Digital art journey
- Practice Tangles and Digital Zentangle Art
- Learn to create Sacred Geometry in Procreate
- Create art with both Tangles and Sacred Geometry designs
Online Art Business
- Set up WooCommerce on my Shop subdomain
- Create a Business monetization plan (decide what I am selling and how)
- Create a product
- Add a product to my Shop
Why did I choose these July Goals?
July is about continuing what I started. I have to lay down a lot of foundations in order to build a successful online business. Last month I cleared the area, by choosing my hosting, starting my blog, and creating a subdomain for my shop. Now I need to put down the cement block that will be the foundation of my business. This is the technical stuff of creating an online business.
My goals for my digital art career are obvious. Becoming a professional from scratch means I must focus on learning. I don’t believe you have to master something before moving on to something else. Zentangle Art is perfect for beginners, so I will continue to practice it; however recently, I have discovered Sacred Geometry. I want to explore that as well.
Reaching My July Goals with a Study Partner
As always, I will hold myself accountable for my goals through my YouTube channel. Every week, I post a “Study with Me” and “Work with Me” video to my channel. These videos give me an external reason to work on my goals. I use the support of my readers and viewers (you guys!) as motivation. It’s like an online study partner.
